If you renew your lease do you have to pay the pet fee all over again?

I was thinking about renewing my lease at the end of the year and I wanted to know if you think the management will make me pay my pet fee all over again? I have a small dog, that I ended up paying a $400 fee for, plus a $100 deposit. $400 is a lot for a college student...just wanted to know if anyone has ever been in that position of renewing a lease and they made you pay for the pet all over again. Thanks ahead of time!!|||Nobody on here can answer that for you. The answer is in your current lease or contract, and it would be pretty simple to call your landlord and ask. Most won't require you to pay deposits again.

Also, keep in mind that you are supposed to get your deposit back... so what good would it do to give it back and then take it again. When you move out, everything will be added up.|||Normally not, unless they raised the deposit amount in the past year, in which case they may ask for the difference.|||they shouldt charge you double if they do i would find another place to rent|||you need to read the lease and see if its addressed. If so that should determine it. Even if its not mentioned in the lease they still may refuse to renew if you don't pay it, then again they may forget all about it. Depends on them.

The 400 is probably a fee they charge for wear and tear and not a deposit, therefore, they may charge again since it will be twice the wear and tear.|||Unless you have some really wierd clause in your lease that says you do -- no.

All deposits are supposed to be held in an account until you move out. If there is damage or unpaid rent, they use it to pay that. Otherwise you should get a refund in 30 days.
