Lease exspires??

my lease exspired Dec2006.it is feb 2007.what is the worst thing that could happen?i have been paying my rent on time.what happens if i decide to move out?I live in ohio.we have not renewed our lease in wrtitng.what if in the future she wanted to take any type of legal action or hold my deposit.if i was to decide to move out of state can she sue me.If i had any damages to her rental.i have paid a deposit .|||Most leases in Ohio roll into a month-to-month lease after your first 12 months are completed. This means that either the landlord or the tenant can give a 30-day notice of vacancy.

If you are planning to move, give your landlord a 30-day notice. You then will able to get your security deposit back minus anything taken out for damages or excessive wear-and-tear. I believe a landlord has an additional 30 days to return the deposit following your vacancy date.

A landlord's ability to sue you for damages above and beyond your deposit has nothing to do with the length of your lease.|||If you lease was up then that's that. worse thing they could ask you to sign a new lease or ask you to move. as long as you have been paying rent and they are accepting it I dont see any problems. they probably just had you sign a lease so you wouldnt move in then move out two or three months later if you found something cheaper. if you decide to move take plenty of pictures after you have emptied the place out every tenant needs picture when they move in and out. highly recommend taking pictures just in case they try to say damage was there that you know wasnt. if you have pictures you have a better chance.
