Renewal of Bank FD.?

If I renew a 3 year old cumulative Bank Fixed Deposit, would the bank still deduct TDS? I have a bank fixed deposit which would mature in a few months time. I want to renew it. Will they still deduct TDS even if I renew it?|||You have not indicated the investment amount. As of now, if interest earned is more than Rs.10,000/- during maturity, TDS will be deducted by the bankers only for the amount exceeds Rs,10,000/-. However if you produce the 15H form they will not deduct any amount from your maturity amount receivable. But bankers always follow the latest IT rules.|||Jolly well they do unless you give the IT form prescribed that you do not come under the purview of Tax.|||there is no connection betweeen deduction of TDS and renewal of your FD at all. The Bank has to deduct tax at source (TDS) if the total amount of interest paid to u is rs 10,000/- or more.|||Banks are supposed to deduct TDS annually on any interest above Rs. 10000 paid or accrued in any financial year. If your income in any financial year is within taxable limits ,you can ask your bank not to deduct TDS for that year by providing FORM 15G to them before the accounts are finalised. In case of cumulative deposits FORM 15G ,if applicable, should be given to the banks every year.
