Our lease technically ran up, but never signed a new one?

Our lease reads the following: The lease commences on October 15th, 2007 through February 15th, 2008 with a possible renewal option through August 15th, 2009 (12-18months renewal option). Now when February came along we thought they would sign a new lease (we had a four month trial with option to renew) but all they did was call and ask if we were staying. Are we still legally bound to our old lease in anyway OR are we on a month to month with certain items still applying (ie, responsibilities of notice, repairs so forth, deposit). We'd like to move but want to know if we can move now without getting in trouble or if there is a certain time we should plan to move legally (after the 12 month period or February of 2009). I live in Pennsylvania, but not from here so unsure of local laws. Hoping to get some advice here before I consider an attorney at an extra charge. Thanks in advance.|||It may be wise to have your situation heard by a Real Estate Attorney in your jurisdiction. You should do this immediatly so that you don't lose important rights. Many lawyers offer a free or low-cost initial consultation just for the purpose of determining whether they can help you. Don't be afraid to contact them. Good Luck!|||what happen is you just stay within your lease and it is easier to leave.|||You lease is over so you are going month to month BUT you must still give a 30 or 60-day move out notice depending on what your landlord requires.

PS They may raise your rent by a lot when you go month to month.|||Check, it might now be on a day to day?|||Check to see if there is something in the lease about what notice is required after the lease runs out. If there is nothing, you should be OK with 30 days notice. The easy thing to do is ask the management office. I bet they will be willing to work with you!
